January 2010

Welcome 2010!!! Hopefully this finds you and your family healthy and happy. So far this year it has been a rough go of it in the Gibson household. The holiday season was fun and fast though!

Thanksgiving we were able to travel to Indy to spend it with the family. Jordan had a great time flying for the first time.

Overall, it was a great trip and she had a great time.

Next came her first birthday!!! We had lots of friends and family over for her birthday and everyone had a great time!!! A friend of ours made Snoopy cakes for her and her Nena made a teddy bear cake. She was not all that interested in her cakes and didn't want any icing. I guess she is not going to be a sweets girl.

Then came Christmas! Nana and Grandad were here!! We were very excited that they were able to be here and for so long this time! We had really missed them this past year and they had not seen Jordan since last Christmas when she was just born. Jordan had a great time with her Grandaddy and Nana. They played and played and played. She also took her first steps on Christmas!! She has not quite just started taking off yet, but she does enjoy walking!

She got so much stuff she just didn't know what to do with it all!!!

Next came New Years! We had a lot of fun during this time and still had family in town. Towards the middle of the month though, things got a little hairy. We all have been sick at one point or another during the month of January. Unfortunately, Jordan ended up with a hospital visit for part of it. But as normal, she did it in Jordan style and was GREAT during her stay. Even though she was not feeling the greatest and was stuck to an IV pole, she did a great job while at the hospital.

Thankfully, it was nothing serious (and we know for sure because they ran every test possible and poked and proded her for a while). She is a very healthy little girl and just had a VERY NASTY viral infection. Currently, mommy is a bit of a germ-a-phobe. She is doing much better now and will start back to daycare tomorrow. Thankfully, Grandma, Grandpa, and Nena were here to help out when needed so Jonathan and I could get some sleep here and there. But we made it through and things are getting back to normal (knock, knock).

We hope that the New Year finds you health and happy and that you have a great 2010!! GO COLTS!!!

And here's more

One weekend while mom and dad were here we met up with some friends in Destin for the kids to play together. Jordan and her friend were born on the same day, three hours apart in rooms right next to one another. We have become great friends with this family! The kids play great together and it is always fun to watch them! Hope you enjoy!!!

Crazy busy

Hello out there! I never thought I would ever be quite this busy in mhy life, but apparently I can be. Jordan is growing like crazy. We have just posted some new pictures of her and her good buddy on the company website. If anyone would like to view them please email me and I will give you the password. They are awesome!
Well miss Jordan is now crawling...everywhere...all the time!!!! She also enjoys walking, with help. She is not quite brave enough to walk all by herself yet, but we are hoping that she will take her time. Jordan is now 9 months old! It is crazy how fast the time goes. I feel like it was just last week we brought her home from the hospital. It has been a fun nine months! I am very excited about all of the fun things she does and what she is learning!
We recently had some visitors...Grandma and Grandpa Brooks came to visit for a little while and it was a lot of fun. I have included some recent pictures below.

Time Flies

Well, Jordan is officially 7 months old and counting. She is definitely getting more and more of a personality. I was looking back through pictures and video this week and found myself tearing up a bit. It is crazy to think how fast time has gone by!!! She is so close to crawling now. She likes scooting backwards. She is also completely enjoying talking with Grandma and Grandpa on the webcam. We are just waiting for her to take off any day!

I have found that my job is so much harder now having a baby of my own. I am looking for more positive things in my life...prayers are appreciated! However, we keep trucking along. Jonathan has recently taken on a job, as well as running a business. We have more than enough to keep us busy at this point! At least we are blessed. We count our blessings every day!!!

We hope that everyone is doing well. We will be posting more pictures soon and I am sure some video of crawling once we get there.

Mammoth Cave Cruise

On Sunday, we joined the ECCC for a great cruise from Bowling Green to Mammoth Cave National Park. Jordan wanted to wear her new pink outfit for this event (complete w/matching hat)!

What a great drive through the Kentucky country side... The trip planned was a great one, but it was filled w/hills and a lot of twisty roads. The drive really made us miss our Corvettes! Although, the Acadia did get a workout, but it did well...

Here is Lori from the NCM w/Jordan!

Pictures from our 2 hour hike through part of Mammoth Cave will be posted soon.

National Corvette Museum Trip

This past weekend we joined other members of the Emerald Coast Corvette Club (ECCC) for the clubs annual trek to the National Corvette Museum (NCM)! We left on Friday after Jessica got off work and made it as far as Birmingham before spending the night. Jordan has taken a big step forward in sitting up... Prior to Friday night she was only able to balance herself for 30-45 seconds at a time. But, on Friday she was able to sit up for almost 5 minutes (multiple times.)

On Saturday we left around 7:30 to finish our trek and ended up meeting the rest of the club @ the Whistle Stop Cafe. What a great place to eat! We highly recommend it!

Here is Betty holding w/Jordan!

Someone is having fun...

This is one of those places just off the beaten path that was well worth it!

Five Months and Growing!

Jordan became 5 months old officially on May 23, 2009. We ended up having a doctor's appointment this month due to a cold that she had. She is 15.5 lbs!!! Jordan has been busy over the past month. She is sitting up for about 30-45 seconds before tipping over. However, she takes it in stride. We also learned over the past month that she loves dogs. During our trip to Orlando she had a couple encounters with some dogs and she loves them. They would bark or lick her and she just giggles. We think it is great!!! Nothing beats her "brothers", but she definitely thinks dogs are very cool.
The picture below was taken after a day out last weekend. She loves her Leo the Lion. Leo goes where we go and she is getting pretty attached to him. He is a great pal and is there when teething becomes hard to handle.

This next picture was taken prior to going to school for the day. It was green day at school and decided to wear our Tigger for the day!

Friday Night Cruise

Last Friday (5/29/09)we went out with the Emerald Coast Corvette Club to enjoy an evening out at Pier Park and dinner at Red Robin. Matt and Chanda joined us on our trip and we had a great time!

Jordan also made up with Frank...their last encounter did not end so well. Jordan was rather hungry and fussy the last time, as you can see in the pictures below, they had a great evening this time around!
